SREC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving education for the immigrant and refugee populations in Spokane, Washington. We are a group of educators and professionals collaborating through education, advocacy, and research to harness the energies of higher education, adult literacy, k-12 programs, and community organizations to improve the education of refugees and immigrants in the Spokane region.

Our Inception

SREC began in May 2015 when like-minded educators from Spokane Public Schools, Gonzaga University, Eastern Washington University, Whitworth University and the Community Colleges of Spokane got together and dreamed.
